Your Sexuality
Without Shame
For centuries, sexuality — especially women's — was a taboo subject. Even today our culture holds many hurtful, stigmatizing stereotypes that make us block our sexual energy. We're afraid to talk about sex; we treat it as something bad and immoral — which is complete nonsense! Sexuality and sexual energy are an inseparable part of our lives; there's no reason to give them up, to fear them, let alone be ashamed of them!
Where sexual energy lives
According to ancient Hindu beliefs, sexual energy is located in the lower abdomen. It governs our sex life and fertility, but also our creativity and vitality. Weakness, apathy and a lack of ideas are signals that there's something about our sexuality we dislike or suppress.
During the energy sessions I run, I see how often women dislike their sexuality and push it into the background. As a result, they are more often hit by low moods.
Sex appeal and its power lie not in how we look but in how we think about ourselves.
Be good to yourself
Don't deny yourself pleasure, and be good to yourself. Take care of your body and your appearance — don't think “I'll do it someday,” don't put it off. In a second-hand shop or at the sales you can always hunt down a nice piece of clothing that won't cost much. Don't say “I can't afford it” — that's just an excuse.
Be yourself on a first date
A first date is always stressful. Remember to be yourself. Don't pretend to be someone you're not; don't put on an act. What for? The person you're meeting is supposed to like and get to know you, as you are — not a carefully crafted image. Honesty is the foundation of a good relationship.
If the date doesn't go well, don't despair. That happens sometimes too. Listen to your intuition; it knows best what's good for you. Don't date someone just because you don't want to be alone.
Talk about what you need
If your sex life with your partner no longer satisfies you, don't be afraid to talk to him about it honestly. Look for new solutions together; try experimenting. This area of our life is like any other. You can work on it, develop it and refine it — by trial and error too. Nobody is born a master.
Your pleasure matters too
Time spent with your partner in the bedroom should be time that gives you pleasure. Remember that sex can never be an obligation, and you can say no at any moment. It doesn't matter whether you're married or have known each other for a few hours. Your consent is always required. If you change your mind during sex — say so.
Don't try to do everything just to satisfy your partner. Your satisfaction and pleasure are just as important! Don't be ashamed that you also expect sexual fulfillment — there's nothing wrong with that! Talk about sex and your sexuality openly — then you'll enjoy it even more.
Enjoy and celebrate your physicality and your sexuality. Don't be ashamed or afraid of them. Let them bring you joy. Love your body; remember that no one is perfect — you'll see that, thanks to this, you'll smile more often and have more energy to act.
